Back in February I was diagnosed with posterior tibial tendonitis. I’ve done PT took a long break from running and tried to come back multiple times. Each time ending frustrated that things weren’t working.
I set my sights on the Baltimore half marathon. Figuring I could build up slowly and use the Galloway method to succeed and maybe get faster.
Last month, I learned about my PCOS and that my tendon was still inflamed and I needed to pull back. I even had a doctor tell me that I shouldn’t run. This meant I needed a new plan!
I went to the running store and bought my first ever Hokas. I joined a CrossFit gym to work on my strength and weight loss. I have set my sights on a new target of the MCM 10k.
I don’t see this as a failure. I see this as a realistic adjustment to my goals. Strength and weight loss need to become my focus. The stronger my legs become the better they can carry me across that finish line! An injury isn’t the end it just means your journey isn’t quite over yet!
I am also excited because Gatorade Endurance is helping me to fuel my journey. Hydration and nutrition is key in my racing and recovery! Gatorade Endurance is helping keep me on point! Especially as I sweat everything out in CrossFit.
