I have been an avid zwift biker for over a year now. It makes the tediousness of trainer riding enjoyable! You can ride with friends, you can see different places, and you can challenge yourself. I even completed the Canyon/Sram zwift academy this year. Long story not so short, I love me some zwift.
Sooo, when I had the opportunity to test out the new Zwift runpod I jumped at the chance. I’d seen the runners trucking along on the side of the road as I biked. I never really understood how they were doing it. Apparently, they have a supported pod or treadmill! You can find out the requirements here
It is easy to get signed in (right now you can run on Zwift for free). Create your running avatar and get running!
Now, there can be some challenges. For me, I could only use it on my iphone or my laptop. I also had to connect on my laptop and use the zwift companion app to get the strongest signal. Also, I recommend just replacing the battery that comes with it. I determined some of my issues were due to a dying battery.
I did join in for the Bibrace race and then did a run of my own. Sadly, I’m not fast enough for some of the group runs/races. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see that Zwift did work with my run/walk intervals.
I do find that chatting or doing things with my phone is a bit harder when running than when biking, lol. Nevertheless, Zwift running really does help take the “dread” of of treadmill running.
