Let’s talk sizing

I have been a little absent this week. Things have been a little crazy at work. It has been a nice recovery week for me since I have a sprint triathlon this Sunday. So while Jon tackles IRONMAN MARYLAND today, I’ll enjoy my sprint tomorrow. This is my first triathlon this year, with the move we kinda missed tri season. However, I can honestly say I have not trained for this race AT ALL. My first time in the water since the beginning of July was last Saturday. I’m looking forward to just going out and having a good time.

But….what this post is actually about is sizing. Yesterday I went to the races packet pick-up. Now, what I thought was a nice perk was that the first XXX number of women got a Tri top instead of a t-shirt.

So lets compare. The above picture is the tri top I will actually wear to the race and the one I picked up yesterday. The one on the left is the one I will actually wear from Coeur Sports. The one on the right is from the race and is MuMu brand. BOTH ARE SIZED XL.

Coeur sports is a great brand that is specifically designed for women. Lycra and Lace is an all women’s triathlon race. Now, I know I’ve been fighting to have decent sizing at my races and I think I’ve done a pretty good job in the short time I’ve been there.

SOOOOOO, let’s take a look at the overlay

Does my race swag appear to be an XL to you?? I mean I would expect a slight different but REALLY!?!?!?! There is a LOT of extra fabric behind that is the actual kit I will be wearing. I really thought about taking a picture of me trying to get into this new jersey, or even better maybe trying to get out of it but I can only handle so much embarrassment.

So I guess a big thank you is owed to Coeur Sports for making things true to size and not making my SQUEEZE into something that is really not an XL! Which is a shame cause it is a cute top. Maybe I’ll hang it and make it a goal to fit into it, lol!

What brands do you all wear?

uhhh i hate sizing…it is a stupid concept really…sew a tag with a letter or number in it…no stores are the same, they make us feel cruddy about ourselves…i try not to look at sizes…order multiple sizes, try on…whatever fits and makes me feel good i keep 🙂 and i try NOT too look at the size, just try and go! don’t let that size play with your head!

Hooray for Coeur Sports! It’s so annoying when sizes are completely unpredictable. I don’t care what the size is, just help me figure out what size I should be wearing!
